Wind Energy

Owens Engineers, Inc (OEI) provides engineering services for wind energy projects.

The term wind energy or wind powers describe the process by which the wind is used to generate mechanical power or electricity. Wind turbines convert the kinetic energy of the wind into mechanical power. This mechanical power can be used for specific tasks or for a generator that can convert it into electricity. So, wind turbines use wind to make electricity.

Wind Resource Assessment

• This is important to enable the customer to be certain about wind resource available at site and at what level.
• Report shall be generated and provided to the customer at the end of this segment

 
Project Feasibility Analysis

• This is part of pre-development stage that will give customer a full site analysis
• Provide qualification of the site for development by removing or mitigating any potential flaws
• Secure all data needed for development.
• Again, report shall be generated and provided to the customer at the end of this segment

Project Development & Management

• This stage begins with selecting and purchasing wind turbine
• Moves through the entire stage of permitting
• Then installation, construction and commissioning activities.

Sizes of Wind Turbines
Wind turbines are typically grouped into two categories: Large and Small.

Large wind turbines range from 100 Kilowats (KW) to as much as several Megawatts (MW). Larger turbines are group together into wind farms, which provide bulk power to the electrical grid.

Small wind turbines are typically used in homes and businesses. They are sometimes used in connection with batteries and/or photovoltaic systems (Solar). These systems are called HYBRID wind systems and are typically used in remote, off-grid locations.

Depending on the customer’s power requirements, Owens Engineers, Inc. can provide engineering services for any sizes of wind turbine. Services to be provided will be determined by customer’s requirement at reasonable and fair prices.
